At the moment, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping… And there is a foot of snow on the ground outside the door. Soon enough trees will be green, the peonies in the yard will be blooming and wedding season will officially begin! (Not soon enough for me, though!)

Until then, I can think about our trip last month to my parents’ place in southern Florida… We all enjoyed the sun, the beach, the food, and just in general being able to be outside as much as we wanted. Not to mention the love & attention heaped on TJ for eight days straight. He soaked it all up, for sure – he loves an audience. :) The day after we got back, I looked out at the bleary scene before me and complained to my husband “I want to be back in Florida!”

We got back last week from 10 days in Florida… It was a welcome break from winter – even this mild winter – especially because we spent it all with family and friends. We started at my parents’ house for about a week in southern Florida. Rest, relaxation, and a lot of “firsts” for TJ. He loved the pool, and getting his feet wet in the ocean, but especially enjoyed all the constant adoration from grandma and grandpa (I will spare them from being the subjects of a blogpost – for now :))… We then headed up to the panhandle so Tom could perform at the Gulf Coast Renaissance Faire. If I haven’t mentioned it before, he is part of a performance troop that does historical sword work, fun pirate shows, and fire performing – Phoenix Swords. Check ‘em out – they do private events, too! :)

Well, my husband brought these home on Valentine’s Day… I’m a little late blogging them, but the flowers are still vibrant, cheering up these short February days… And I believe out of 4 boxes of cookies there are still 2 1/2 left. That’s pretty good, right? :) Luckily for me, Tom has learned over the years that cookies get a much better reaction than plain ol’ chocolates. Also, he doesn’t like them as much, so they are all for meeee…
