Welcome to a new feature – “Throwback Thursdays”! I have so many older weddings that I never got a chance to blog – they either got lost in the shuffle, or they are from before I even started blogging. They are pretty amazing, too – and I wanted to share them with you! So, every now and then, I’ll be digging through the archives and bringing out some of favorites for “Throwback Thursdays.”

Starting with Natalie & Andrew! I pretty much love everything about this one. The details – gorgeous flowers, the bird theme, just the amazing backdrops of the MIT Chapel and the Lyman Estate. The couple – sweet, easy-going and ready to party! The families – I had the pleasure of photographing Natalie’s sister’s wedding, and as always, it’s great to re-connect with families I’ve worked with in the past.

Mothers are generally a huge part of a wedding day, and also the days, weeks and months (and years :)) leading up to it. In many instances they are part of the planning process, some financial support, maybe a diy helper, and definitely emotional support along the way.

I love to capture these moments between a mother and her child (or grandma and her grandchild), especially now that I am a mom myself. I can really start to understand how bittersweet it must be to step back and see your baby starting this whole new life! I have to admit that the emotional mother/son dances get me a little bit teary-eyed nowadays.

So, here’s to all the moms! You are loved, appreciated, and yes, we will try to call more often.

This is just a small sampling of some of my favorite “mom” moments… Thank you to so many moms (and dads) who invite me into your homes (usually while the bride is getting ready), and really make me feel like one of the family – and usually insist that I eat something! :)

One of my last weddings from 2012 (still more to blog though :)) – Kerri and Dane – it was really laidback, fun, and with a super sweet couple – what more could a photographer ask for? Oh yeah, amazing details, a sunny day (which we weren’t expecting!), a beautiful backdrop at Sky Meadow Country Club, a lot of dancing at the reception… A perfect day all in all – Kerri and Dane, congratulations and thanks for inviting me to be a part of it!

It was also great because Kerri was referred to me by one of her bridesmaids, whose wedding I photographed – Sarah & Ryan… And I also photographed Sarah’s sister’s wedding – Jen & Joe – as well! Love to see some familiar faces!
