Cruiseport Gloucester Wedding || Mike and Holly
Let’s revisit this beautiful Cruiseport Gloucester wedding! Oh, a summer wedding by the seaside! What a lovely thought right about now, as I'm contemplating getting out after a snowstorm with 12+ inches in my area... I was so excited about Holly and Mike's wedding after photographing Holly's friends' weddings in prior years (hello, Julie and Jaclyn! I'm so glad you gals have such awesome friends :)). I knew, if she was anything like these amazing ladies, the wedding would be beautiful, have a lot of neat details, full of emotion, and definitely FUN! I wasn't wrong, at all. Plus, I just love Rockport. It is the most picturesque seaside New England town.
Thank you so much Holly and Mike, for taking me on this journey around the beautiful Cape Ann for your wedding! Rockport is becoming one of my favorite spots, and it’s a beautiful place for a wedding. And I always love wedding receptions at Cruiseport!

I love all the hustle and bustle of these last few moments before everything gets going. Lots of last minute hair and makeup and so many candid photos for me to capture.
Holly and Mike decided to do a blind-folded first look kind of thing! It was fun - we got Mike all set and blindfolded, waiting for Holly... She saw him, he didn't see her, but they were able to talk and hold hands - I think it's a great way to calm those jitters before walking down the aisle.
It was an emotional ceremony - tears and laughter!
Well, we headed across the street from the church to start off with, for some photos of the families and wedding party... The guys took a bit of a break while waiting for everyone...
The beach was crowded, sunny and hot - we did get a few group shots on the beach with the water behind, but these rocks over to the side just seemed like the perfect place for the guys to hang out... casually, of course, with their sunglasses on.
Sometimes these "in-between" photos turn out to be my favorite!
The ladies didn’t want to be left out, of course!
And then we got rid of those guys!
Cute idea! Thankfully didn't get my camera *too* wet :)
It was a warm day, glad the girls didn't mind getting their feet wet for a few.
Holly and Mike also wanted some wedding photos at Bearskin Neck, which is the popular shopping area in Rockport that juts out into the water, and has all sorts of neat old buildings alongside.
And, Holly wanted some shots with Motif #1 in the background, which I was clueless about until I read this on Wikipedia about it. The more you know! Ha. "The most often-painted building in America" (the red building on the wharf). We were lucky to be walking down the main street in Rockport, and found this little alleyway (or boat launch/driveway, I guess), to get a few photos with the Motif, water and boats behind.
This is seriously the most adorable little spot in Rockport!
Holly kicking up her heel - love it!
After a fun afternoon of photos on the beach and walking around Rockport, we went on to a night of partying at Cruiseport, Gloucester, for the wedding reception. Everything was in full swing with the cocktail hour on the deck once we got there, and I was able to grab some table/room shots before the guests came in. Cruiseport is a gorgeous wedding venue right on the water in Gloucester, and has all of these huge windows (which I love - natural light!). It is always fun to shoot there, and I have to say, this was probably one of the best dance parties I've been to as a wedding photographer. I usually don't give a shout-out specifically to a DJ, but this guy really kept the dance floor going all night - seriously, I don't think people had a chance to catch a breath. Check out the details at the end of the post. (No, I'm not getting anything in return for this recommendation :))
Love these classic details…
You can really see all the fun little touches Holly thought of in the decor.
So sweet, Holly’s bridesmaids emotional reaction to their first dance…
