Winter Wedding at the Commander's Mansion || Stephanie and Wally

Stephanie had one wish for her winter Commander’s Mansion wedding: snow. As we headed to the church I began to see those tiny little flakes that come out when it's really cold outside... Small flurries. By the time the ceremony was over and Stephanie and Wally were magically transported to the Commander's Mansion by horse and carriage, those big wet flakes were coming down. Stephanie most certainly got her wish that night. And I know she and Wally also had a perfectly beautiful ceremony, with tears and laughter, and a completely rockin' night once the DJ opened the dance floor. All that and the Commander's Mansion in Watertown was decked out in its Christmas finery.

I've never seen anyone so happy to be out in the cold!

The very brave ladies! I wasn't doing too great in my bulky winter coat, scarf, ear muffs and special photo-gloves, but they stuck it out there in 20 degree weather. Whoo! You can also see the beginnings of some small snowflakes here...

Stephanie led the guests in one of the hymns...

And beautiful voices run in the family because her mother and aunt led the congregation as well.

A happy exit and onward to the horse and carriage! A chilly ride to be sure, but unforgettable.

We made it to the reception for this wedding at the Commander’s Mansion!

Stephanie warmed up the crowd with a song for Wally during cocktail hour!

I hope you are ready for some Christmas wedding magic. Seriously, the folks at the Commander's Mansion go all-out in decorating for the holidays. Everywhere I turned, into each little room or corner, there was something else. Truly gorgeous! And that magic definitely was felt by the guests as we all got ready for the snowfall to come... Kind of like snuggling in for the night with 100 of your closest friends and relatives... But instead of cocoa by the fire, it was daaaancin' all night long.

Can I get a shout-out from all the Doctor Who fans?! Y'all know that bowties are cool... and fezzes too.

So, remember when I said that Stephanie's one wish was for snow on her wedding day? One of the reasons is *this* shot. One of the last shots of the night as we were packing up to go and we got out there in the cold and snow for just one more... Perfection.

I just had to sneak in a couple of Sherika and Geoff - I photographed their engagement session and wedding a few years ago... So nice when I get to catch up with people, *and* Sherika designed and made all of the gorgeous wraps that the bridesmaids wore.
