Hammond Castle Wedding || Chris and Lani

I could go on about the fun, particular personality of Lani and Chris' wedding (dinosaurs, books, handmade paper bouquets!?).... The amazing backdrop of a Hammond Castle wedding, overlooking the Atlantic from it's perch in Gloucester. The fact that they met swing dancing, so of course their wedding reception was a blast... But really, all it comes down to is Lani's laugh, which radiates through these photos, and Chris' quiet smiles, which you could see anytime he looked at her.

I had such a fun time exploring this very unique wedding venue (my first time here, either for a wedding or just to visit). If you are in the area you should definitely check out Hammond Castle! The views of course are amazing, but I also love all the little details (the bridge! the gargoyles! the open air atrium with garden and statues!).

A little bit of the history of Hammond Castle, taken from their website: "John Hays Hammond, Jr. built his medieval-style castle between the years 1926 and 1929 to serve both as his home and as a backdrop for his collection of Roman, medieval, and Renaissance artifacts. The castle was constructed as a wedding present for his wife Irene Fenton Hammond to prove how much he cared for her. In addition, the building housed the Hammond Research Corporation, from which Dr. Hammond produced over 400 patents and the ideas for over 800 inventions. Second only to Thomas Alva Edison in number of patents, John Hammond was one of America's premier inventors."

If you're in the area, it is definitely a fun place to visit!

Did I also mention that I adore the fact that Lani changed into this tea-length dress for dancing? Of course, she and Chris are swing dancers!
