What do you get when you mix a perfect October afternoon, a classic New England hotel, a wedding ceremony on the coast of Maine, lots of sweet kids and families and one of the most fun couples I've had the pleasure to work with? Well, you're about to find out! Trish and Chris' Colony Hotel Kennebunkport wedding post is long overdue, they were married in October of 2013... What can I say, there were so many "favorite" images to go through, it just took me a really long time! It started with lots of time in the getting ready suites, I had a second photographer with me - Kimberly Jones - and she was with the guys, while I stayed with the ladies. I always love to be there during this part of the day - there are lots of candid, unscripted moments and everyone is in a happy and anticipatory mood, before things start rolling along and the day gets away from us! Not to mention I love getting those detail shots, too.

Then Trish and Chris opted to do a first look right in front of the Colony Hotel, which overlooks an amazing view of the ocean.

This suite at the Colony Hotel was a great spot for Trish and her family & friends to get ready before the wedding - I love the big windows!

I don’t get to shoot Maine weddings very often - but WOW, I wish I got to come up this way more… This was such a gorgeous day. Even though it was overcast, that is actually good for wedding photos in the middle of the day - gives us a nice even light. This is such a pretty view from the Colony Hotel - right outside there are these gardens with the ocean in the background.

And I wanted to get a couple wedding photos in front of Colony Hotel itself - it’s a grand, elegant hotel right on the coast of Maine.

I love how family focused their wedding was - with both of their brothers acting as officiants, and their parents doing the readings. And then were all the baaabies! They were so cute and all over the place :)
