Box Mill Hall Wedding at AD Makepeace || Mike and Nicole

Hellooo!... So, what's a better way to dream of the long, warm days of summer than Nicole and Mike's wedding? I can't imagine a more perfect setting than the spot they chose. They had their wedding at Box Mill Hall at AD Makepeace Company, which is a working cranberry bog (according to their website "the world's largest cranberry grower, the largest private property owner in eastern Massachusetts, and a recognized leader in environmentally responsible real estate development and stewardship"), in Wareham, MA, right outside the Cape.

It was the best of both worlds, with the girls getting ready at the family's beachside cottage, and then the ceremony in a field on the AD Makepeace property and reception in a beautifully decorated tent. Best of all, Nicole and Mike were so laid-back all day, just soaking up the love from friends and family! As Nicole, said, her vision was to have a laid back, fun setting for our guests and for us to enjoy with amazing food, games, dancing, and a gorgeous setting. I absolutely loved being a part of it!

I’ve asked them some questions about the wedding - their answers are in italics throughout.

Ceremony & Reception: AD Makepeace, Wareham, MA

I don't think I could love these flowers more!... Just wait until you see the reception flowers...

So many lovely backdrops for photos at AD Makepeace - I loved the rustic look of this building on the property.

Nicole's take on the ceremony: During the ceremony was one of my favorite parts of the whole day. My cousin officiated and we wrote the ceremony together and it could not have expressed Mike and I's feelings toward one another better.

This is such a beautiful spot for a wedding at Box Mill Hall!

There are quite a few photos of all the flowers and decorations... I couldn't help myself, Kim of Illumination Designs just did such a spectacular job, every time I turned around, there were more I wanted to photograph!

AD Makepeace has a beautiful barn (which they had the cocktail hour in), or you can do a tented wedding reception there at Box Mill Hall. I love the open tent look and feel for a summer wedding. And since we were right not too far from the ocean, there was a nice breeze throughout the evening.

From Nicole: Music is something Mike and I have in common, so we chose an old Bob Dylan song with an offbeat rhythm that we loved the lyrics to. We then broke into one of our favorite rap songs as a little surprise at the end. It was awesome.

What did you like best when working with me (as the photographer)? I loved that I did not have to think about you! I knew you could capture my vision perfectly, so I just enjoyed the day and let myself be totally natural.

I couldn't resist getting some sunset photos in this field right outside the tent. Some of my favorites!

What were your first reactions to the photos? That the moment was truly captured and our relationship and love comes through in the pictures 100%

Nicole: The reception was great, though it passed in the blink of an eye as they say. Dinner, dancing, talking to guests. It sounds corny, but I felt surrounded by love.

What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings? Stick to your vision, and don't let anyone tell you what you "have" to do. Do things differently according to your personality and what you feel is right and you will have an amazing day!
