What would you most like to do on the morning of your wedding day? Take a hike? Well, that's what Carrie did! As I was walking around Willowdale Estate, getting some photos of the building and grounds, I see Carrie emerging from the wooded area... "Just wanted to get some fresh air and take a walk!" She said. As she is someone who works outdoors, and with kids, I was not too surprised to hear this. Thankfully the rest of the wedding party was prepared to hike a bit into Willowdale Forest for some photos, too!

Ceremony & Reception: Willowdale Estate, Topsfield, MA

A very quick and sweet first look on the boardwalk!

This was definitely a "the hills are alive" type moment. Ha! You can see the joy in Carrie's face, being outside on her wedding day (it was a real toss-up, as it was early October and storms were predicted).

One of my favorites - they were both just so happy all day, and couldn't take their eyes off each other!

This was a first for me! I've photographed lots of weddings at Willowdale Estate, but never a ceremony that was held on the front lawn in front of the estate (facing the wooded area and river). Even the planners said that this was not a usual occurrence, but Carrie really wanted that natural backdrop while they were saying their vows.

Local florist Aster B did a beautiful job with Carrie's autumn bouquet (but so loose and lovely and fresh), and of course all the rest of the flower details everywhere!

Carrie and Paul had a beautifully choreographed first dance.

I love that they're doing the cake-cutting out on the terrace at Willowdale now, with the cafe lights sparkling behind. Such a nice backdrop, and it gives everyone a chance to come out of the tent for a bit.
