“Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson
This is what it's all about for me! I love photographing weddings... there are always the same beats, the same routines, very similar timelines for the day. But then again they are all so different! And capturing these vanished moments is what I absolutely live for on a wedding day. Yes, I'll admit it, I have lots of fun shooting beautiful portraits and seeing all the amazing details... but those moments. Often times the ones in-between. I turn away for a minute to adjust my camera settings, you think I'm not paying attention as you laugh together or that knowing teary-eyed look your mom gives you while you're getting ready. So much to witness and capture! Love love love.
So, that brings me to this: every January I have the time to go through all my weddings from the previous year and pick out some of my favorites for the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalists Association) contest.
