Portland Maine Wedding || Rachel and Nick
Rachel and Nick’s wedding was six years ago now! I can’t believe I haven’t blogged it before now, especially because I was completely amazed at the transformation that took place inside this amazing industrial wedding venue! They completely made it their own, and with hundreds of guests, it still felt cozy and intimate.
I am very lucky that Rachel and Nick heard about me from a friend of theirs (I just like referrals! Referrals are my favorite! - said in the voice of Buddy the Elf :D), and although I hadn’t been to Portland much for weddings at the time, I was thrilled to be a part of this downtown Portland wedding. The ceremony and reception was at the Portland Company Complex, which is at the Portland waterfront. Unfortunately this really cool venue is not hosting weddings at this time due to development… But maybe they will still keep that edgy cool vibe (how old do I sound? Haha) for future weddings.
We started out the day with some getting photos at the hotel across the street…
I love the hustle and bustle of the time before the ceremony. And with a big wedding party, it’s sure to get a little crazy (I embrace the crazy :)).
See what I mean? Look at that wall of windows with the exposed brick!
Not to mention being right near this cool vintage train.
It started raining so we had to run back inside, but I love how these last shots came out.
The guys looking cool and collected…
And just some classic shots of the couple… Loving that soft window light.
And then here is the reception space! Totally amazing, right?
I took sooo many detail shots, these are just a small sampling.
The paper lanterns and the up-lighting really helped create this cozy feeling out of an industrial space.
Wedding pie! Love it.
And of course, a shout out to the band………… - they were amazing!
What a fun wedding! Thanks Rachel and Nick, and congratulations, six years later :)
