Bedford Village Inn Wedding || Emily and Aaron

Yay - I’m so excited to share Emily and Aaron’s gorgeous wedding at the Bedford Village Inn! Emily described her vision as “beautiful, carefree, and wildly romantic” - which I think they definitely achieved! And honestly I couldn’t think of many other venues that would fit that description as well as the Bedford Village Inn…. The incredible garden space, warm and rustic great hall for the reception, and the twinkly lights at night.

One of the other amazing features of Emily and Aaron’s wedding was the bright and vibrant colors. And one of the reasons I keep my editing natural is so that all of those beautiful details come through in the photos as they were in real life.

Ceremony & Reception: Bedford Village Inn, Bedford, NH

I’ve asked Emily some questions about the wedding day, and her answers are in italics throughout.

How did you meet your partner?

Aaron and I met when we were children, probably age 2 or so, because our mothers were friends.

How did you get engaged?

Aaron proposed to me by decorating my studio as a Phantom of the Opera themed masquerade ball and dressing up!

What were your goals for your wedding day? (ie, what was your vision, what did you care about most?)

Our goal for the wedding day was to enjoy the moment and ensure everyone had fun and made memories together. It was very important to us that our families had a good time.

What were your first reactions to the photos?

When I first saw the photos I cried. In the best way!

Lots of photos of this amazing wedding at the Bedford Village Inn below!

How did the day start?

For me (Emily) the day started early with the bridesmaids — I think 8am or so— with brunch and mimosas! For Aaron, he and the groomsmen had late nights and slept in a bit.

How did you choose your wedding venue?

We had toured only two places before finding the Bedford Village Inn. As soon as we walked inside and saw the garden, we both just knew it was the one.

The ceremony was beautiful and the most romantic thing we’ve ever done. Neither of us could stop crying!

The most anticipated moment for us was the readings from my grandmother. We had each chosen a literary passage and kept them secret from each other! Neither of us knew what the other had chosen until my grandmother read them aloud at the ceremony. We didn’t want personalized vows, so this made it extra special for us.

I love to be able to capture these “in-between” moments… After they had walked down the aisle, all the love poured on Emily and Aaron from their wedding party.

Your photos captured the essence of the day. Your photos encapsulated the beautiful, carefree, and wildly romantic atmosphere we wanted. I never knew where you were (in that, your skill with candid shots is superior, seriously) but you were always in the PERFECT place, every time. I truly could not have asked for better.

I obviously could not get enough of Emily and her fun bridesmaids (and those amazing colorful dresses and bouquets!).

Just gorgeous!

What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings?

My suggestion to other couples is to enjoy each moment (even the really really frustrating ones). Most people say the day is a blur, but for Aaron and I it was the opposite. We were able to live and experience and appreciate every single moment because we had enjoyed the process that led up to it. The day was simply the culmination of every decision we’d made beforehand. I will never forget the feelings that day gave me; especially, the feeling of looking around and knowing that everyone I loved was there for us.

Our first dance was lovely. We had taken dance lessons and I am glad we had! It took the footwork out of our minds and let us simply enjoy the moment together.

We both loved the party! I remember taking moments throughout the night to just look around and see everyone’s faces as they enjoyed the time together. It was unforgettable.

The awesome Brandy Band in action! They kept the dance floor packed all night.
