Brick South Wedding Portland || Danielle and Travis
I’m so excited to share Travis and Danielle’s gorgeous Portland, Maine wedding at Brick South! I knew this would be a really fun, laid-back day after spending a great afternoon walking around Odiorne State Park with them for their engagement session. What I didn’t realize was how amazing this industrial wedding venue of Brick South would be transformed into such a magical space. The lighting team, planner and really everyone who was part of this wedding, made it so incredible. Just wait until you check out all the beautiful florals! And so many other gorgeous details.
We were so lucky to be able to squeeze in their first look and some photos of the two of them walking around Portland before the rain came. Ah, 2023, the year of rain every single Saturday - or so it seemed!
I’ve asked the couple some questions about the day and Danielle’s answers are throughout in italics.
How did you meet your partner and/or get engaged?
We met in highschool and Travis took me back to our highschool to pop the question 8 years after we graduated!
What were your goals for your wedding day? (ie, what was your vision, what did you care about most?)
We both don't love being the center of attention and we really just wanted to celebrate with our friends and family and have a great dance party!
What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings?
Working with small single person vendors like you was amazing because we felt like they really cared about our day and that we could trust that everything was going to be as we talked about. We felt like we didn't have to worry about a thing on the day of and be present in the moment.

Their florist, Beautifully Brightened Flowers, did an amazing job and I was so thrilled that she left me a few loose flowers so I could include them in some of the detail photos. Also, those rings!
With Travis getting ready just down the hall, I was able to go back and forth in between their rooms while there was some downtime in Danielle’s suite.
You managed to capture all the special moments without us even knowing you were there, it's incredible!
They all got ready at the gorgeous downtown Portland Regency Hotel. The big windows were perfect to bring in the natural light!
There was this adorable little park just a block away from the hotel so we were able to coordinate the first look there.
I always love a cool mural!
Did you have any hesitations at first? Did I overcome the doubts?
No hesitations but you made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera.
What were your first reactions to the photos?
Beautiful and natural, we felt like we were right back in the moment looking through the album.
How did you choose your wedding venue?
We moved to Portland right before the pandemic for our medical training and we wanted to share the beautiful city with our friends and family. We loved the industrial vibe of Brick South and felt like it was the perfect spot!
Fun champagne greeting for the guests arriving for the ceremony.
The ceremony felt very special and unique to us as a couple. We also loved having the first look which allowed us to have some alone time before the ceremony.
Everything was so much more fun and magical than we could have imagined!
This was definitely an amazing dance party! MRK Entertainment kept everyone on the dance floor all night.
