Camp Takodah Wedding || Amanda and Craig

Here’s a fun throwback! What a great day Amanda and Craig had for their wedding at Camp Takodah in Richmond, NH. Camp Takodah is usually a YMCA camp, but they open it a few times a year for some lucky couples who want a rustic but beautiful experience for a nature-filled wedding weekend.

Amanda and Craig had their original wedding photographer unfortunately have to cancel a few months beforehand, but I was happy to jump in! They are a super laid-back couple and just wanted to have an incredible weekend with their friends and family in this gorgeous southern New Hampshire spot. And it’s right near the border of New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Vermont, so pretty convenient for people coming from all over New England! Great for a weekend getaway for the guests.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception Location: Camp Takodah, Richmond, NH

Here’s a little bit from the couple about their story:

We celebrated 10 years together yesterday! We met while living in New Orleans through mutual friends and now live in MA. We are both in the construction industry and we just finished working on our 1912 farmhouse and just moved in (it's been a loong renovation). We closed a little over a year ago and when we walked into our home, Craig proposed in our kitchen and it was so perfect. We wanted a wedding day that reflected our laid back personalities and one that allowed us to spend the most time with guests so we rented out Camp Takodah, a YMCA summer camp for the weekend! We will be staying in cabins, roasting s’mores, the whole shebang!

Lots of fun woodsy photos from this Camp Takodah wedding below!

When I have time, I usually try to grab some “flay lay” photos of your details - invites, jewelry, etc. Usually I use a solid color fabric or board as a backdrop, but I honestly don’t think I could get any better than the forest floor for this one!

Craig got ready at a cabin right on the lake! Perfect opportunity to grab a beer and sit on the porch with a couple of beers with your groomsmen before your wedding ceremony.

I was so happy when I looked on your website, I love your approach to photographing the big day, as it feels like a guest capturing moments as opposed to a staged performance. We are pretty awkward and silly so I'd love a photographer who could give us posing directions for a few "formal photos" (it's not often we get dressed up) but mostly, I want someone who could capture how much laughter will be had.

This is a fun little collage of the wedding party in the front row! I loved all of their reactions.

After the ceremony on the pond, this cabin is a great spot for the cocktail hour right after.

And we took just a few minutes to grab some photos during golden hour on the dock on the pond.

We cannot thank you enough for helping to make our day so special.  The sneak peaks are amazing!  I'm so excited to see them all!

And then on to the main lodge for the reception!

Unfortunately I didn’t get to stay for the whole reception so I missed out on some of that fun! I’m sure the night was amazing as they had some games out on the terrace and a plan to do s’mores later in the evening! It’s great how much freedom you have when you have a full weekend to yourselves at an entire camp!
