Backyard Wedding in Concord || Kate and Russell

This was an amazing day where everything came together perfectly!

When you’re having a backyard wedding, there is a lot of planning involved and a lot of moving parts. It can be tough to pull off your vision with so much going on! And on Kate and Russell’s wedding day it started with a bit of rain which kind of threw a wrench into things. Thankfully, the rain stopped and we were able to have a lovely ceremony and reception outside on this September day.

I love backyard weddings for their personal aspects - Kate and Russell got married at Kate’s family home in Lincoln, MA. Not only that, but they each had one of their siblings be tag-team officiants, which was absolutely hilarious, heart-felt and so sweet. A family friend provided the cake, and their neighbors even helped out with parking! Truly an all-around team effort here. I was very glad to be a part of it and had so much fun. Also, stick around to the end for sooo many dancing photos - everyone was definitely ready to party to celebrate Kate and Russell! Love it.

Russell and his groomspeople got ready at a nearby AirBnB which was perfect! Lots of light, and an easy way to hang out without having to go far away to a hotel.

Back and Kate’s parents’ house, some reactions from her bridesmaids to the letters/gifts she gave them.

Kate’s grandma was able to come into the getting ready area to watch as she got into her dress. Funnily enough, Kate’s niece was by far the most emotional one of the group! She couldn’t stop looking at Kate and eventually started tearing up watching her get into her dress. It was so sweet!

More nieces and nephews as the flower people and ring bearer!

Some emotional moments! I love getting some shots of the parents during the ceremony whenever I can.

This ceremony was so funny - with lots of anecdotes about the couple from their siblings/officiants.

If your backyard looks like this, it’s a no-brainer to have your wedding here, right?

Two places at once? Nope! My second shooter, Mary, got the image on the left. Not sure which one I love more!

I usually don’t post family photos on the blog, but Kate’s family was so much fun and I felt like such a part of the family all night, I just had to include a few.

Kate’s parents’ property included a nice field as well as these lovely woods that we were able to do some photos in, and give the couple a few moments alone to take a few deep breaths.

While Kate’s bridesmaids were bustling her dress, I got a few photos of the bouquet, and I love how this one came out :)

There were soooo many toasts. And they were all equally touching, funny and personal, and I just couldn’t help but post all of these images. If you only have one amazing toast at your wedding, you’re lucky. But 10? Wow! Kate and Russell’s friends and family really went above and beyond for these toasts!

A very fun dance between father and daughter!

Oh my gosh… The guests at Kate and Russell’s wedding came ready to DANCE! And Kate basically was tearing up the dance floor all night. So many great dancing shots!
