Massachusetts Garden Wedding || Jay and Charlotte

There’s nothing like a 15 degree day to look back on a gorgeous garden wedding! Glen Magna is definitely at the top of my list for Massachusetts wedding venues, and it really does have the most spectacular gardens that are updated throughout the year. It’s always a surprise and delight to see what the garden may bring when I walk through the magical archway to get to the ceremony space. Those arches with the wisteria… chef’s kiss!

I really had the best time with Charlotte, Jay, their families and wedding party throughout the day. Laid-back, easy to laugh and with their wedding party being full of theater professionals, you know it’s going to be a fun time!

How did you meet your partner and/or get engaged?

Jay and I both work as carolers during the holiday season! Jay worked with our boss to set up a fake gig where he proposed (we were in costume and all). We stayed in Newport RI for the weekend and enjoyed a wonderful Christmas weekend together. We both love the holidays and it was perfect.

What were your goals for your wedding day? (ie, what was your vision, what did you care about most?)

We really just wanted everyone to have a good time and Charlotte definitely wanted a packed dance floor.

How did you choose your wedding venue?

We have always loved walking around Glen Magna. We went a few times a week during the pandemic to get outside. My mom actually went to another wedding there and suggested the venue to us. It was meant to be!

It was all so fun. It was really amazing to be surrounded by all our loved ones from different areas of life. We were really just over the moon with the entire day.

What were your first reactions to the photos?

They are so beautiful and really capture the entire day. We absolutely love them (and so do our loved ones).

What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings?

Start early so you can really enjoy the weeks leading up to the wedding!

Can you believe the beauty in these gardens? Everywhere you look, more fabulous flowers blooming.

Our ceremony felt really unique and special to us. Listening to our friends play the music they wrote for the ceremony as everyone entered the ceremony was really beautiful.

We really wanted a photographer that was going to get great shots without being up close and personal with us during the ceremony/other big moments. After talking with you, we had no hesitation that you would be perfect.

Since Jay and Charlotte got all their photos done before the ceremony, they were able to fully enjoy the cocktail hour, and I was able to get lots of candid photos of the guests enjoying themselves on this beautiful evening.

I really cannot get enough of these flowers and color scheme!

What did you like best when working with me (as the photographer)?

Brett was PERFECT. Jay and I are very camera shy and Brett was either a fly on the wall or told us all the right poses. It all felt very natural and very us. She was also extremely efficient getting photos of our large bridal party and big family. We got to enjoy most of the cocktail hour which was so nice.

This was such a fun best man’s speech - he got all the groomsmen involved!
