Farm at Glenwood Mountain Wedding || Sallee and John
So fun to share Sallee and John’s wedding with you (finally)! And I know that’s how they felt (finally) when they tied the knot in October of 2020 after rescheduling their wedding several times. Sallee is an art teacher who put lots of love into so many details of their rustic farm wedding, including making all the bouquets for her and her bridesmaids out of paper and fabric.
Wedding location: Farm at Glenwood Mountain
How did you two meet?
John and I originally met in college in 2010. A few years later, in 2013 we reconnected on Facebook and started talking then. The rest is history!
What is one piece of advice you’d give to couples planning their wedding?
One piece of advice I can give is, keep it simple! People will remember moments rather than the things that decorate the space. Go with the flow and don’t obsess over little things, it’s not worth the stress! HAVE FUN, eat and enjoy the time it goes SO fast! :)
Sallee had an emotional first look with her dad…
The day ended up being beautiful, it was sunny and not a cloud in the sky! I was so thankful because it was the third time we had planned our wedding due to Covid. I had just hoped it would go off without a hitch and it did! When I got to the location early in the day, the fuzzy Highland cows were out and I was just happy to see them there. I had secretly hoped they would be out on our day! The air was crisp and the sky was blue. Tents were there, chairs and tables too. It was amazing to see everything start to come together. I had created my bouquet out of book paper, the centerpiece flowers from paper, the bridesmaids and groomsmen’s flowers out of satin ribbon. I was excited to finally be able to use all of the things I had crafted for that day!
The most anticipated moment of the day for me was walking down the aisle. I had dreamt of this day for years. I always knew John was my soulmate and was just so excited to finally be able to get married with our favorite people all in the same place. It was really special and my dream finally came true!
What a gorgeous October day, and a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony at the farm!
I was so happy during the ceremony because all of our hard work and planning, re-planning and re-planning again had finally come together! Our most beloved family and friends were in attendance (in person) or joining on Zoom. The view at the top of the hill was gorgeous and it was a perfect golden hour.
You made everything easy! Planning a wedding is a lot, and especially having to shift and adapt during Covid was tough. I appreciate how you went with our ever changing plans and location! You were flexible and we appreciated that a lot.
When you’re wearing heels like these, your new husband -of course- carries you down the hill to the reception!
I wanted our wedding day to be just be a day where our families and friends could come together and celebrate with us. I cared mostly about our location, which was beautiful! The food, which was amazing and great company!
I did not take any pictures that day, so it was exciting to relive that day in another perspective. There were moments I had forgotten about and it was great to see everything played out all over again.
Another amazing view for the cocktail hour! And as I recall there were some delicious wood-fired pizzas being made right there as well.
The first dance was special, we had picked a song that was special to us, about growing old together. It was perfect underneath our tent and family and friends around us. The party was fun, although it went to fast! Like a whirlwind!
Sallee made these amazing bouquets!
Everything looked just as great as the sun set and all the lights turned on in the barn! Plus, some campfires going as it got cold pretty quickly and everyone made their way from the tent to the barn for some dancing.
