Waterville Valley Wedding || Katelyn and Dom

What a great day for Katelyn and Dom’s Waterville Valley wedding! I always love heading to the White Mountains for a wedding day (just the drive itself is a nice peaceful prelude to a very busy day!). When I arrived I headed to the conference center where Katelyn and her bridesmaids were getting ready on the third floor. That provided a nice little overview of everything that was bustling below - the tent getting set up for later in the day. It was a very laid-back and fun time, as I guessed it would be after spending some time with the couple for their hiking engagement session (still need to blog that one!).

The guys were getting ready right next door at the Golden Eagle Lodge Resort, so I popped over there to grab a few shots of them while there was some downtime. Once everyone was all set we were able to coordinate getting over to the Osceola Arbor for the first look (the adorable blue trolleys they provide definitely helped with that one). That spot has the most incredible mountain views, it was just absolutely perfect.

I’ve asked Katelyn and Dom some questions about the wedding, and their answers are throughout in italics.

How did you meet your partner and/or get engaged?

We met through mutual friends and dated for over 4 years. One Saturday in the summer we went for a little hike with our pup, Brooks. Dom popped the question in a beautiful location with just the two of us and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

What were your goals for your wedding day?

We just wanted to have a memorable day with all the people we care about most and celebrate our love!

What were your first reactions to the photos?

We were both grinning from ear to ear when the sneak peeks were posted! They were exactly what we had envisioned and were delivered so quickly. We had so much fun looking through the whole gallery together and showing our family and friends.

Keep going for lots of fun details, candids and the gorgeous mountain backdrops at this Waterville Valley wedding!

I love that Katelyn and Dom integrated the mountains (with the summer wildflowers) into their invitations.

This is such a great space for getting ready before the wedding. The big windows create tons of natural light (yay!) and it was comfy with lots of seating, and a bit of a barn/rustic aesthetic.

How did you choose your wedding venue?

We have both loved the White Mountains for many years so we toured several venues in the area. As soon as we toured Waterville Valley we knew it was the one! We loved being surrounded by gorgeous views and having everything we needed for the weekend in one central location.

Gorgeous! I can’t get enough of this incredible New Hampshire mountain backdrop.

A couple of fun details! This fun blue trolley to get from the lodgings to beautiful backdrops at Waterville Valley, and the couple’s name on the welcome sign with their wedding date.

We were both so thankful we did a first look. Once we got to the ceremony, any nervousness we had was gone and we could truly just be in the moment and focus on the reason we were all there.

Another great aspect of weddings at Waterville Valley Resorts is that they do weddings year round, with four separate and unique locations for you to have your ceremony - the Osceola Harbor (where Katelyn and Dom exchanged vows), the town square gazebo, the garden terrace gazebo, and of course atop the summit of Mount Tecumseh (with a scenic chairlift ride as an awesome bonus!).

What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings?

Be present and enjoy yourselves! The day goes by so incredibly fast so make sure to savor every moment.

We loved your laid-back style! We did not spend much time at all taking photos yet each moment was captured perfectly. We were truly able to enjoy every part of the day.

Our first dance was really special to us. Neither of us enjoy being the center of attention but it truly felt like we were the only ones in the room. We will cherish that moment forever.

We took just a few moments to get some golden hour photos right outside the reception tent - these amazing hydrangeas were in full bloom so of course we had to take advantage!

Once we got to the reception we were full of bliss. Everything had come together perfectly and we were ready to dance the night away!

This dance floor was so much fun - thanks to Jay Malette of Main Event Entertainment - always a solid choice and wonderful to work with!
