Seacoast NH Wedding || Wes and Ellyn
I was so excited to be a part of Wes and Ellyn’s wedding in June! The wedding was in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire - specifically in Rye at Ellyn’s family home, and in Portsmouth at the Little Harbor Chapel. I knew it was going to be a fun after hanging out and getting to know them at their engagement session last year. A really laid-back day with their friends and family, great food and an amazing party. What more could you want on your wedding day?
I’ve asked the couple some questions and their answers are in italics throughout.
What were your goals for your wedding day? (ie, what was your vision, what did you care about most?) I truly just wanted the day to feel relaxed and full of love. Wanted to spend it with our closest friends and family and just have a blast celebrating our love and relationship.
How did the day start? My maid of honor, Hannah, and I went down to Kooks by the beach, grabbed smoothies, and went for a nice long beach walk which helped quell some nerves and was such a relaxing way to start the day

You know it’s going to be a great day when the first face you are greeted by is an adorable golden retriever. You’ll see in later photos that I loved this dog :)
The photos were such a special part of the day, and I was glad to do them before the ceremony. It was great to spend time with our family and bridal party, having special moments before the ceremony. There was lots of laughter during this time as well.
What did you like best when working with me (as the photographer)?
Your overall demeanor is wonderful. You are able to mesh well into any group situation it seems (as we have a huge family and lots of personalities), and I never felt nervous or awkward during the photos because of that.
Wes and Ellyn were able to transform Ellyn’s parents’ backyard into the perfect spot for their wedding reception… that tree in the middle of the tent though! I also know that Ellyn’s mom worked a lot on landscaping and gardening to make this happen.
Then we all headed over to Little Harbor Chapel in Portsmouth for the ceremony. It’s a tiny chapel in a really tucked away little spot. So cute and perfect for Ellyn and Wes!
I was only slightly obsessed with the family’s golden retriever (or as obsessed as he was about trying to get snacks from people during cocktail hour).
And here is where I’ll give a big shout out to Great Circle Catering for pretty much the most delicious lobster roll ever. Definitely check them out if you’re looking for an amazing caterer!
Ellyn and Wes made their big entrance through this balloon arch (which Ellyn’s sister made!). The joy and laughter on their faces say it all.
What were your first reactions to the photos?
Absolutely in love. They were so gorgeous, and truly captured who Wesley and I are as a couple. I could really feel us in the photos, which was wonderful.
How did you feel during the reception?
The party was amazing! So much dancing, laughter, and delicious food.
Definitely a ton of laughter- so many amazing and funny toasts!
What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings?
