Boston Park Plaza Wedding || Alex and Tim
Sometimes I’m going through the many years past of weddings I’ve photographed and realized I’ve really missed a great opportunity to share a beautiful wedding on the blog! Alex and Tim’s wedding at Boston Park Plaza definitely falls into that category. Unfortunately some years are just too busy around to sharing every single wedding, and this is one from when my daughter was one, so I can understand that I was probably just a little sleep deprived. 😂
As I was going through the gallery I realized that I transferred many of the photos into black and white - so I decided to include almost all the images in black and white in the blog post as well. I think it just adds a classic element to this elegant downtown Boston hotel wedding. Of course some of the ones in the park and of the details I wanted to include in color!
Alex and Tim are such a fun couple and some of my favorite shots are ones from everyone walking the downtown city streets to get to the Public Garden.
Way back when, I asked the couple some questions about their wedding, and Alex’s answers are throughout in italics.
How did you meet your partner?
We met through a mutual friend when Tim was visiting Syracuse University (where Alex attended) for a weekend.
What were your goals for your wedding day? (ie, what was your vision, what did you care about most?)
Our vision was to have an elegant and classic ballroom wedding, which is why we picked the Ballroom at the Boston Park Plaza (beautiful!). The goal for our day was to everything planned so during our wedding day we could relax, have fun, and spend time with our family, friends, and each other.
What were your first reactions to the photos?
Complete excitement to relive our day as everything felt like a blur!
Lots of photos below from this beautiful wedding at Boston Park Plaza!
How did the day start?
The day started with a skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks with the classic "Bride" name on it! I LOVED it and couldn't imagine starting my day any other way.
Alex’s flower girls wanted to help out all day - here they are preparing to help get her shoes on…. It was so cute!
Alex had a quick first look with her dad!
This was a more dramatic first look coming down the staircase at the Boston Park Plaza where Tim was waiting on the landing.
What did you like best when working with me (as the photographer)?
Our favorite part working with you is all of the candid moments you were able to capture. They truly reflect our special day and who we are as a couple.
Did you have any hesitations at first? Did I overcome the doubts?
Honestly, we had no hesitations working with you. We had done our fair share of research and all your reviews and portfolios aligned with everything we were looking for.
I love this photo in black and white… One of the reasons I think I like so many of these in B&W is that the colors of the background might be a little too distracting, and this one focuses the eye on the couple, even with all the movement of everyone crossing the streets.
Gorgeous Alex and this dress! I’m glad we were able to get this one while we had a bit of a break before the ceremony.
Walking into the ceremony, with my dad on my arm, was the most overwhelming and magical feeling I have ever had. The moment the doors opened I could feel the love radiating from everyone who was there to witness our special day. Thinking about it now still leaves me speechless.
This was such a beautiful space for the wedding ceremony at Boston Park Plaza!
Yep, I’m pretty sure Tim got some air in that center photo. Just love how excited they both look!
The first dance to be honest felt a little awkward, we were both worried we were going to trip over each other! Once the dance floor opened and the party really started, all we wanted to do was enjoy the company of our guests and of course dance the night away!
I definitely didn’t see any awkwardness from my end!
What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings?
I would tell other couples to relax and have fun! Planning a wedding can be stressful but in everything in the end will work out and everyone will have fun!
It was so fun re-visiting this 2015 wedding at Boston Park Plaza!
