New England Fall Wedding || Mary and Derek
Is it wrong that even though it’s May, I’m already looking forward to October? My favorite month here in New Hampshire! And there is nothing like fall in New England, and it’s the perfect time to have your wedding!
Mary and Derek had one of those absolutely perfect fall days that we all dream about… Sunny but crisp, surrounded by the foliage at it’s peak at Glen Magna Farms in Danvers, Massachusetts. Of course the wedding itself was beautiful too! I felt so lucky to be a part of it. One of those days where I just felt completely like one of the family and everyone was so happy and in the moment. We started out at DoubleTree, then a ceremony at St. Mary of the Annunciation in downtown Danvers before we headed over to Glen Magna for the rest of the evening.
Of course you couldn’t ask for a more gorgeous fall backdrop than Glen Magna in Danvers… As you’ll see we were really able to take advantage of the golden light to make that foliage stand out even more! And I can’t get enough of the long tree-lined walkway that had the most incredible carpet of yellow fall leaves. Love!
Lots more from Mary and Derek’s amazing New England Fall Wedding below!
I really loved the architectural details on the outside of the church, and it’s always fun to get some candid photos of the guests arriving and the groomsmen welcoming them.
Also the inside of the church had a lovely ambience and still loving all the details, especially the ceiling with the wooden beams.
It’s always an added bonus when the priest is funny too!
The church had this small area that was perfect for some photos before we headed over to Glen Magna.
The light! The colors! If you’re looking for peak foliage for your fall wedding in New England, I recommend mid to late October (also obviously depends on where in New England, as the mountains areas of course peak earlier).
Glen Magna has so many fun spots for photos, even inside the historic home…. This library/sitting room was the perfect spot to take a breather before Mary and Derek went out to greet their guests at the cocktail hour.
The videographer did some drone shots with everyone cheering which were so fun!
I wouldn’t have thought of this color scheme for a fall wedding, but I absolutely love it! It’s just classic, and I adore the bridemaids dark green dresses with the contrast of the white flowers and lighter greenery. Beach Plum Flower Shop did an awesome job! Always love working with them.
If you have the option, I definitely recommend adding some lawn games for your cocktail hour… Maybe selfishly just for me so I can get some funny shots like the one on the lower right 😂
Have to get a few rounds of cornhole in during the cocktail hour!
Even in the fall, Glen Magna does not disappoint with the amazing gardens and florals.
I love this new amazing long wooden table that gives a classic look, and brings lots of warmth to the space. The white flowers and all the candles just add to the vibe!
It’s so fun for me to get the reaction shots of not just the wedding couple, but also their parents, the wedding party and all the guests!
Oh my gosh, I could not stop laughing as I was editing these photos after the wedding… Mary’s brothers were so fun and I love that they stayed on the dance floor all night long!
