Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm Wedding || Ashleigh and Mike
I’m very excited to share Ashleigh and Mike’s wedding at the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm in Vermont! I always love to get back to Vermont (I went to college in VT, so it always has a soft spot in my heart), and I’m so glad that I was able to be a part of their amazing day.
I always love how pretty much all my couples say they are unphotogenic or feel awkward in front of the camera, and then basically knock it out of the park every time. I knew that this day would be so fun and that everything would be effortless after their engagement session earlier in the year.
Since the couple live in Burlington we did some brainstorming about where to do their engagement session, and somehow we landed on Woodstock, VT, which was a new-to-me spot! It’s absolutely adorable and perfect for a summer photo session, and I also got to check out Quechee Inn while I was up there because Quechee is right next door!
Just a little bit about the couple, from Ashleigh:
We both love snuggling our cat, Tesla, reading, playing board games, and the outdoors. I am a yogi and a runner. I frequently listen to musical soundtracks, alternative/indie music, and Taylor Swift. Michael loves playing basketball and frequently watches basketball and football. He loves rock and indie music and collects records.

This was just the sweetest first look! I just adore how these two look at each other and then Michael kisses Ashleigh’s hand…
I know lots of couples want their photographer to have experience at their venue, but I always appreciate it when a couple can trust me as a seasoned professional to be able to work on the fly at a new-to-me venue. And it’s so fun for me to walk around and find the best spots (and it always changes depending on the lighting and the season). I usually get there early on the day of to walk around and scope it out a bit. And I definitely had a great time photographing Ashleigh and Mike all around Queechee Inn at Marshland Farm!
I don’t always follow trends, but I had to hop on this one for these absolutely gorgeous bouquets made by Petals Floral Design. All my favorite are in there! Sunflowers! Dahlias! Zinnias! And the fall colors… Chef’s kiss. Also a shout out to these beautiful bridesmaids and the mix and match colors and styles of their dresses. Please keep that trend going!
I’m always a little nervous with this prompt - don’t want the guys to go too crazy on the groom, but this was a fun one. I just love the looks on their faces as they’re coming up behind Mike.
Can’t get enough of these!
The outdoor ceremony space at Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm is beautifully framed by these two old-growth trees.
Since Ashleigh and her mom know that I collect vintage/antique cameras, they very graciously gifted me this one after the wedding was over. It has a great spot on my shelf - thanks so much!
And look how amazing the tent set up looks with all the golden colors from the sunflowers as well as the charging plates, candle holders and all the other little details. The cafe lights also provided a warm glow throughout the evening.
When you do all your posed photos beforehand, that gives me plenty of time to roam the cocktail hour and get lots of fun candid shots!
How freaking cute is the Quechee Inn?
These two are pretty cute too!
Just a few more shots at golden hour!
What a wonderful day! I’m so lucky I got to be a part of it.
