Butternut Farm Wedding || Chris and Jess
“Here comes the sun” - what a fun theme for Jess and Chris’ wedding at Butternut Farm! It had been awhile since I’ve been to this venue, so it was also a great time to re-visit this beautiful spot. They had their ceremony there on the golf course, then we had a fun trip through for photos at the covered bridge on the property.
And I had such a phenomenal time photographing their reception/dance party. Everyone was on the dance floor all night, which is always great for me! They got married the summer of 2021 so I think we were all just ready to party the night away after so much time doing social distancing.
Lots of fun photos from Jess and Chris’s wedding at Butternut Farm below!
Jess’s bridesmaids had the best reactions when they saw her for the first time…
Loved this story about how the two of them got together!
Chris and I met in college at a party... I kissed him at the party but ran away with my friends shortly after and never got his name. Chris said he saw me around campus but was too nervous to approach me again. Fast forward a couple years and he sees a picture of me and a good friend of his, who also happened to be a good friend of mine. He asked her about me and I started seeing him more around the group. Unfortunately for him, one of my good friends had a huge crush on him. I didn’t want to upset her and I cared for her feelings so when he would flirt with me I was actually pretty mean and stand-offish. He said this didn’t stop him because he knew from the kiss I liked him and he was determined to take me out. It took my friend meeting her now husband and some more pushing but after 4 years we went out and have been together since. He proposed to me in my childhood home in front of my two nephews last Christmas and it was perfect.
This was definitely a fun ceremony with a lot of laughs, and even better since Jess’s uncle was the officiant. And of course the beautiful backdrop of the golf course stretching on behind the ceremony area!
After a quick trip in the golf cart we got to this beautiful Willow tree, and then the little covered bridge, which is also fabulous for photos.
It didn’t really matter where we went… All day Jess and Chris were in their own little world.
Going from tears during the first dance to laughing until your sides split during the toasts!
Then obviously I had a ton of fun on the dance floor that night! I don’t always get to stay until the end of the reception (and honestly a lot of times the dancing is done by then and people are heading home)… But I am so glad that Jess and Chris wanted me until the end because it was such a great time. The amazing DJ from C-Zone was really on-point all night and the guests were having a blast. And wonderful for me to get all these incredible dancing photos of everyone.
Serenading the couple!
Last dance and lots of hugs!
