Sheraton Portsmouth Wedding || Sydney and Ryan
So happy to share Sydney and Ryan’s wedding at the Sheraton Portsmouth! I live so close to Portsmouth but hardly ever get to do weddings here! Why? Come on people, let’s fix this. I absolutely love Portsmouth. And I am so happy that Sydney’s parents just happen to be my next door neighbors and I got to shoot Sydney and Ryan’s engagement session and wedding! They obviously love Portsmouth too because they also had their engagement session at Prescott Park right there on the water. And their wedding was at the beautiful Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel.
I’ve known Sydney awhile but it was so fun to also get to know her now-husband Ryan and of course all of their friends and family as well - they had a pretty big wedding party! Nineteen people, not including the bride and groom - I think that’s a record for me? Not sure. All I can say was they sure kept the day fun and let me tell you that they had an absolute party on the dance floor all night long (as the many photos below will attest)… I definitely did not have to worry about getting bored with this group!
I asked Sydney some questions about their wedding and her answers are in italics below:
How did you meet your partner? Online
What were your goals for your wedding day? (ie, what was your vision, what did you care about most?) enjoying the day together
How did the day start? Full of excitement and joy!
How did you feel during the ceremony? The first dance? The party? We were both nervous during the ceremony. More relaxed and relieved during the first dance. During the party happy overall!
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day? Ryan: seeing you walk down the aisle. Me: walking down the aisle to Ryan
What did you like best when working with me (as the photographer)? Timeliness to keep things moving along! A well oiled machine!
Did you have any hesitations at first? Did I overcome the doubts? None at all!
What were your first reactions to the photos? They came out amazing and quickly!
What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings? Have fun and enjoy the process. There will be hiccups but it’s part of the process! And make sure to do what makes you happy, it’s your day!
Keep going for lots of photos of this amazing wedding at the Sheraton Portsmouth!
What a great view of Portsmouth from Sydney’s beautiful suite!
Some fun jumping on the sofa with these adorable flower girls!
It had been raining off and on all morning… The decision was called to do the ceremony inside, but we also spotted a rainbow!
They have a great indoor ceremony space at the Portsmouth Sheraton Harborside, which makes up a little for the rain making us come inside!
Sydney’s good friend, Christine, also just happens to be a fabulous officiant. If you are in the New England area and looking for one, I highly recommend her! Her info and link to her website can be found at the end of this post.
I just love how excited Sydney is!
This was an amazing party! Shout out to Seacoast DJ Bill for keeping everyone on the dance floor.
Thanks to all these awesome vendors who made Sydney and Ryan’s Portsmouth Sheraton wedding a smashing success!
