Aldworth Manor Wedding || Holden and Isabelle
Who could have guessed you can find a gorgeous and historic Tuscan estate in the Modnadnock region of New Hampshire? Luckily through years of renovation, this incredible architectural gem is now a perfect spot for a NH mountain wedding! I’m so glad that Isabelle and Holden invited me to be a part of their wedding at Aldworth Manor in Harrisville last July.
I asked the couple some questions about their wedding, and Isabelle’s answers are throughout in italics.
How did you meet your partner?
I met Holden at a nightclub in Manhattan. He was performing as a magician. After his set, I went up to him and introduced myself.
What were your goals for your wedding day? (ie, what was your vision, what did you care about most?)
I wanted a summer wedding with a nature inspired feel to it.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
The most anticipated part of my wedding day was the flowers!
Keep going for so much more from Holden and Isabelle’s Aldworth Manor wedding!
My first reaction to the photos was that I looked like I was on a movie set. We loved the quality and lighting of the photos and that you took candid photos as opposed to all posed. Our photos feel very authentic because of this.
How did you choose your wedding venue?
My mom heard about Aldworth Manor by word of mouth. I grew up in NH and wanted to get married in NH. We visited the venue and loved it.
The bouquets and the green dresses… *chef’s kiss
Loving the mountain views from the front of Aldworth Manor! What a grand entrance for all the guests arriving to the ceremony.
A sweet moment when Holden was pushing the hair away from Isabelle’s face…
Say yes to a petal toss while you’re walking down the aisle!
I hope that this new trend of switching out the groom’s pin-on boutonniere for a pocket floral arrangement catches on! Not only is it so much easier to put on, I think they hold up better throughout a long wedding day (usually the boutonniere ends up sad and hanging upside down by the end of the night).
The skies turned from bright blue to grey very quickly and we had a huge summer downpour! Thankfully the folks at Aldworth Manor had everything under control, and even had a stash of umbrellas to help the guests get from the manor (where cocktail hour was held) to the reception tent.
AfterAll Floral did a fabulous job of transforming the already beautiful tent into this floral masterpiece! I went a little overboard with taking pictures of absolutely everything they did - there was so much!
Since Isabelle is a dancer they had a beautifully choreographed first dance, within this amazing magical woodland setting.
What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings?
My suggestion to other couples is to work together. Make choices together.
