Barn at Bull Meadow Wedding || Shawn and Amy

I'm excited to share the photos from Amy and Shawn's fall wedding day at The Barn at Bull Meadow! After their incredible engagement session at Crane Beach, I knew it would be a fun and laid-back day, and it did not disappoint. The weather was perfect, and the backdrop of autumn colors truly enhanced the romantic vibe of the day.

From the intimate ceremony to the joyful celebration with family and friends, every moment reflected their love and personality. The Barn at Bull Meadow served as a stunning venue, providing both charm and warmth.

I’ve asked the couple some questions about their story and the wedding day - Amy’s answers are throughout in italics.

How did you meet your partner and/or get engaged?

Shawn and I met on Hinge in August 2019. Fast forward to November 2022, and we got engaged at Crane Beach in Ipswich. Crane Beach was the perfect place to get engaged as it had become a sentimental place to us after spending a lot of time there during our first year together, enjoying long walks along the beach during the pandemic.

What were your goals for your wedding day? (ie, what was your vision, what did you care about most?)

Our vision for the wedding was to create an aesthetic that was elegant yet simple, clean, and timeless. The flow of the evening and ensuring all our guests had a great time was also really important to us.

What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings?

My advice for couples planning a wedding is to stay true to your unique values and priorities as a couple. Concentrate on what genuinely matters to you, and avoid letting outside pressures or expectations influence your choices.

I hope you enjoy these highlights from Amy and Shawn’s wedding at the Barn at Bull Meadow!

It’s really nice that they have two spaces to get ready at the Barn at Bull Meadow. Guys deserve a special spot too! And makes it super easy for me to get shots of the whole wedding party getting ready before the first look.

I was particularly excited about the first look, eagerly anticipating Shawn's reaction to my dress. I had asked him several times leading up to our wedding what he imagined my dress would look like, and he always guessed "something form-fitting." Although I knew he would love my dress regardless, I couldn't wait to see his genuine reaction.

We were looking for a venue that was both rustic and elegant. Shawn discovered the Barn at Bull Meadow online and instantly fell in love with it. After touring the Barn at Bull Meadow, it became clear that this was the perfect venue for our wedding. We loved the aesthetic of the barn and couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else.

As someone who doesn't particularly enjoy having their photo taken, I was initially nervous that I wouldn't love the photos or that they might look awkward. This hesitation wasn't specific to you, but rather a general apprehension about seeing the photos afterward. Once we got the photos back, however, we were not disappointed!

We received an initial sneak peek on social media the day after the wedding and we were thrilled! The sneak peek only heightened our excitement to see the rest of the photos. To our delight, we received nearly 90 more photos a few days later on Facebook. We were then pleasantly surprised when the full gallery arrived in my inbox just a little over three weeks after the wedding, much sooner than we had expected. We absolutely loved looking through them together and reliving the day. As we browsed the entire gallery, we particularly enjoyed seeing photos of moments we hadn't witnessed firsthand on the wedding day. For instance, I didn't get to see the flower girls or ring bearers walk down the aisle, so it was a lot of fun to experience that moment through the pictures. It meant so much to us to have every detail of the day captured, and we were overjoyed with how beautifully the photos turned out.

wedding ceremony from different angles and guests reacting

As our wedding day approached, we both felt a bit nervous about the ceremony and being the center of attention. However, when the moment came, we embraced it and focused on each other. There were moments of laughter during the ceremony that eased our nerves as well. It was important to us to stay true to ourselves as a couple and do what felt right and natural, rather than sticking to the "rules."

We appreciated how nothing felt forced, and the photos never seemed overly posed. You provided some direction, which was helpful, but also captured the natural moments—like all of Shawn’s goofy faces. You blended effortlessly into the background and captured so many candid moments that I didn’t realize you had captured until we got the photos back. Your presence was non-intrusive and you went with the flow of the day, creating a relaxed and enjoyable experience for us.

Amy and Shawn were looking for a classic and elegant look, which worked great in this space which is already beautiful. The Barn at Bull Meadow served as a lovely backdrop, with soft cafe lights creating a warm ambiance, and the long white curtains adding a touch of refinement.

Our first dance followed the same principle; we did what felt natural and kept it simple, avoiding a choreographed dance that wouldn't have felt authentic to us. The rest of the night was filled with joy. With all the planning and formalities behind us, we were able to fully enjoy the moment and the joy of having all our family and friends gathered in one place.
