Newport Vineyards Wedding || Mani and Tyler
Wow, was this a fun wedding, and I’m so excited to finally share it! My problem was just narrowing down the photos, because I am absolutely obsessed with Mani and Tyler and their beautiful wedding day at Newport Vineyards! Mani had the biggest smile on her face all day (in between the laughter) and the couple was surrounded by their delightful family and friends who made the day the best time.
From the bright and colorful details, to the emotional first look and private vows, to the incredibly hilarious toasts at the reception, this was just a blast to be a part of and photograph. I’m so glad I got to be a part of it!
I’ve asked the couple some questions about their story and the wedding day. Mani’s answers are throughout in italics.
How did you meet your partner and/or get engaged?
Tyler and I met through my cousin, who was friends with Tyler throughout high school. Oddly enough, Tyler knew most of my family before ever meeting me from family cookouts that I was way too cool to go to. I learned many years later that he thought I was a stuck-up princess because he thought my full name was “Armani” and because I wouldn’t join the family events lol.
We got engaged in 2022 on our 4-year anniversary when we were at my family house in New Hampshire for a weekend away. We decided against gifts that year and opted for cards only, as we had traveled A LOT. We were about to go to dinner when Tyler said we should do cards first. He read mine and then gave me his – where he had written something notable in history that had happened on that day throughout many years, with his own funny commentary. At the end he wrote “2022 – Tyler finally asks Mani to marry him.” I LOVE cards and it was so perfect! The funny thing is, I had told my best friend I had a feeling that Tyler was going to propose soon and when she asked how I thought it would happen, I said “maybe on our anniversary in NH”. Little did I know when he was planning the proposal and asking her opinion, she had shared that as an option, and here we have it!
You definitely need to keep going to see more from this fabulous wedding at Newport Vineyards!
Absolutely adore the bright color scheme and modern typeface and design for the invitations - designed by Mani’s brother! He also designed the rest of the signage for the wedding.
It was so fun hanging out with Mani and her bridesmaids, they were bringing all the laughs and energy!
I honestly and surprisingly was not anxious about the ceremony, or the day really. It had been a goal of mine to not be stressed on my wedding day and I achieved it! Tyler was more nervous than I was, which was so precious. One of my favorite parts of the day was he and the groomsmen left the hotel for the venue a little earlier than me and he texted me “It’s go time”.
Rock paper scissors on who was going to go first with their private vows!
When we first started planning our wedding, we were thinking of a beautiful farm my mom has time at in Cabo, MX. I’m fortunate to have all four living grandparents and quickly realized that was a lot to ask of them. Another favorite place of ours in Newport, RI. After exhausting nearly EVERY single wedding venue in Newport, we landed on Newport Vineyards because the prices were not as insane as the others. We wanted to see them near Christmastime, but the event manager was off until New Years. Rather than waiting for a tour, we went to lunch with my mom and stepdad and decided we loved it. The food was amazing, the grounds were beautiful, everything was perfect. We spoke to assistant event manager and let her know we wanted a Saturday in the fall for 2024. She got back to us sharing that one couple moved their date to Friday, and with that we snagged the last Saturday for the entire fall of 2024. It was kismet!
What we liked best about working with you was your willingness to help in any way. I reached out so many times with random questions ranging from your opinions to timeline help to whatever else, and you were so prompt with your answers and always open to support. I went into both our engagement photos and wedding day with no concerns because if there were any, you’d already put my mind at ease. You were such a pleasure to work with, and even after the wedding, open to helping with editing select photos and we simply cannot thank you enough.
Really could not get enough of these two + the amazing backdrop at Newport Vineyards.
What were your first reactions to the photos?
LOVED them. Obviously, I love your editing style, but they were just SO GOOD. Before getting engaged, I rarely have done professional photos, and seeing these memories that we’ll have forever and that we look damn good in… it’s priceless. I’m so, so happy with them.
We had done our private vows and formal photos before the ceremony, so I was less anxious and ready to get another one of the “hard parts” over with to fully let go and enjoy the night. And I say that with love, every bit of this day was so great, but there’s also a lot of buildup. It also was a bit chilly, and I know some guests had mentioned being cold but I run HOT, so it was perfect for me. My mom was emotional of course, but my dad and I, as well as our venue attendant were joking. It was so nice to have that moment of us three together before walking down. A funny part of this is that I had painstakingly chosen my ceremony music of course, and always teared up listening to it before the actual day. During my walk down the aisle with my parents, my 2.5-year-old brother is screaming for my mom, totally killing the vibe. But a story for us to tell him when he’s older lol. The rest of the ceremony was great! My brothers and Tyler’s sister all did readings, which was so special. The officiant was amazing, and it just felt casual and natural, and I was just smiling so hard the entire time (a theme you’ll notice from ALL of your photos lol). We also nailed our aisle dip so that was also great.
What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings?
Try not to stress. I know it’s easier said than done, but find out what will help you achieve that. If it’s delegating or letting go of really big expectations, just know that everything will work out. Your vendors have done this before and you’re marrying the love of your life. It’s going to be perfect no matter what.
Our goals for the wedding were number 1: no stress! We wanted good food (Newport Vineyards is farm to table so we felt good about that decision), we wanted people to be dancing nonstop, and we wanted to have fun. This is the most expensive party we’ll ever throw so we wanted it to be fun for us and our people. We also wanted it to feel like “us”. I can say we accomplished it all, which is great.
There are so many great spaces for guests enjoy during cocktail hour (and throughout the entire day) at Newport Vineyards - from the vineyard itself, the beautiful terrace with cafe lights, the bar area and of course reception room!
The first dance I was of course nervous about, but we were riding the high of our reception entrance. I felt like we did pretty well, but the entire time we were just talking about what moves to do next and when to end – we almost missed it! Overall, I’m so proud of us for that!
Both Tyler and I discussed this before the actual day, what we were most excited for, and we both agreed that it was the speeches if we had to choose. It was so special to hear from our loved ones their thoughts on us both separately and together. It meant so much. Additionally, the audience had a variety of reactions from tears to laughter – always a good thing!
The party was AMAZING. First of all, Newport Vineyards got my vision down to the details, so it was beautiful. The food was great and the music was SO GOOD. Granted, I did choose it, but the DJ did such a great job of reading the room and playing bangers. The dance floor was full from the beginning, and there were so many special moments throughout the night with songs that have meaning to Tyler and me, to my family and me, my friends and me….it was amazing.
Anything else you'd like to share about wedding planning, your vendors, your day?
I’m just so pleased with our wedding weekend. Even the minor things that didn’t go perfectly or in an ideal, perfect world I may have changed, I don’t even care. We had the best time. For the month afterwards, we’d randomly just say to each other “Our wedding was so great, wasn’t it?”. And it was. We were so happy with every vendor we worked with, all the work we put into planning, it all paid off. And now we’ve got the photos, the memories, and the great reviews from loved ones to relive it.
Love it! I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it. :)
